Cloud Architect & Engineering Leader
20+ years building and governing enterprise technology platforms across banking, energy, telco, and government. Currently driving cloud and integration engineering at EnergyAustralia.
/ About
I'm a cloud architect and engineering leader specialising in hybrid and multi-cloud strategy, large-scale infrastructure migrations, and engineering governance. Over two decades I've delivered complex programs across some of Australia's largest organisations — including NAB, Telstra, IBM, and EnergyAustralia — with deep expertise in AWS and Azure, compliance-driven environments (ISM, IRAP, PCI-DSS), and building the engineering communities and standards that make platforms sustainable long after delivery.
Outside of work, I'm a hands-on tinkerer with home infrastructure and networking, and I enjoy exploring how AI tooling is reshaping the way engineering teams build and operate.
/ Current Projects
EnergyAustralia · Active
Establishing engineering patterns and governance frameworks for migrating applications from on-premise data centres to AWS. Defining the technical standards and guardrails that ensure migrations meet requirements for reliability, security, and operability at scale.
EnergyAustralia · Active
Developing the governance framework and technical guardrails for transitioning application and platform support to a consolidated single-provider model. Focused on scoping, risk parameters, and engineering standards that teams execute within.
EnergyAustralia · Active
Leading Stream 4 of the Delivery Excellence initiative — exploring how AI can reduce the cost of requirements and design work to enable "shift left" engineering practices. Developing frameworks for AI-native development and establishing engineering communities of practice.
Personal · Exploration
Building out personal AWS sandbox environments with multi-zone VPC architectures to explore cloud patterns hands-on. Integrating AI development tools including MCP servers, VS Code extensions, and experimenting with Claude and Bedrock APIs for engineering automation.
